Merseywood is filled with trees, plants and picnic tables, alongside a wooden story-time chair and musical instruments, our pop-up wood has been created using a range of sustainable materials, and will play host to lots of free family-friendly activities including craft and sustainability workshops as well as storytelling sessions.

Officially opened  by Stockport Council Leader, Elise Wilson, Merseywood has been created in collaboration with StockportCouncil, CityDressing and Merseyway-based community design studio and woodwork specialists, EasyPeel at MerseywayWorkshop and forms part of Stockport Council’s programme of activities to support Covid recovery, funded as part of the Government’s Welcome Back Fund, which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.

We are delighted to welcome back the Stockport Beekeepers. Who will be sharing with us the secrets of beekeeping and helping to learn more about these amazing creatures. 

There will be stalls, photo opportunities and even the opportunity to try and find the queen bee yourself in the live observation hive.
