Merseyway shopping centre hosted a pop-up art exhibition filled with fantastic works by budding artists at Aquinas College.
The exhibition was the result of an initiative organised by Merseyway and Stockport Council which invited Year 12 students from the college’s Art & Design Department to create artworks which depicted a timeline for Stockport, reaching from the town’s rich heritage to its exciting future or captured local people from Stockport enjoying everyday activities, either at work, shopping, enjoying time out or simply interacting with each other.
The final artwork chosen for display was selected by representatives from Merseyway and Stockport Council across five categories – photography, 3D, textiles, graphic design and fine art.
The shortlisted 100 pieces appeared at a free pop-up exhibition at the centre in a dedicated unit opposite Waterstones.
