Stockport Volunteer Fair

On the 17th September at Merseyway Shopping Centre (outside Specsavers), the
Stockport Volunteer Fair will take place from 10am till 3pm. A day to connect like
minded people to fantastic volunteering opportunities happening across Stockport.
There are roughly 57,000 volunteers across Stockport, contributing an estimated £105
million to the local economy.

“Attending the Stockport Volunteer Fair is about more than finding opportunities – it’s
about discovering where your skills and passions can make the greatest difference in
your community. Our voluntary groups, charities and social enterprises are the driving
force behind a stronger, kinder Stockport, and volunteering opens doors to new
friendship, skills and experiences.” – Clare Finch, Stockport Volunteer Hub Lead.

Over 40 local charities and community groups will be present on the day, doubling
groups present last year! A number of notable VCFSE’s involved are Guide dogs UK,
Real Rock Radio, Girl Guiding Northwest, Friendly Fridays, Marbury Road Edible
Garden, Ohana Arts, Dementia Disco and Richard Roberts Archive. This is a chance to
gain a better understanding of who they are, their impact and how volunteering can help
the Stockport Community.
