Merseyway supports Purple Tuesday
Merseyway is ‘going purple’ today as it participates in Purple Tuesday 2019 – an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people. It involves organisations of all sizes and from all sectors taking decisive, practical actions to meet the needs of disabled customers.
As part of Merseyway’s activity to promote Purple Tuesday, shoppers will be able to snap a photo by the giant purple bauble in the undercover mall and bag complimentary merchandise from Hidden Disabilities from 10am – 12pm including badges, lanyards and wristbands.
With nearly one in every five people in the UK having a disability or impairment, the aim of Purple Tuesday, created and coordinated by disability organisation, Purple, is to inspire customer-facing businesses to make changes and improve the disabled customer experience over the long term.
As well as endorsing and promoting Purple Tuesday within the centre and across its social channels, Merseyway has recently launched iRoam on its website, enabling customers to plan their journey in the centre before they arrive. Merseyway staff have also been trained to become Dementia Friends and Autism Friends, providing help and support for disabled customers.
